Swampscott High School is seeking a passionate and dynamic French educator to inspire students in grades 9-12. If you're energetic, flexible, and eager to deliver authentic, engaging learning experiences, we'd love to hear from you!

About the Role

As a French teacher at Swampscott High, you'll connect with students through interactive lessons, collaborate with colleagues, and bring your enthusiasm for the language to life. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in French, experience with curriculum development, and familiarity with relevant standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Language Skills: Native or near-native fluency in French 🇫🇷
  • Licensing: MA teaching license in French for grades 9-12 📜
  • Endorsements: SEI endorsement required ✅
  • Additional Experience: Experience with Google & G-Suite Apps, curriculum development, and familiarity with ACTFL standards for World Language, Comprehensible Input, and Oral Proficiency (a plus)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching AP French, and holding a professional license
  • Legal Requirements: Citizen, residency, or work permit necessary

Physical & Work Environment

This position may involve:

  • Long periods of sitting, talking, or listening (in person and via telephone) 🗣️
  • Using hands to handle objects or controls ✋
  • Reaching with arms and hands ✋

Vision requirements include close and distance sight, depth perception, color vision, and focus adjustment. You may be exposed to ultraviolet light from computer monitors and copying equipment, as well as other building hazards.
