About the Role 📝

The Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) offers free legal aid to those in need. Many of our clients are monolingual and require interpreters to communicate effectively with attorneys and access essential legal services. Your language abilities can provide life-changing support.

Volunteer Opportunities & Flexibility 🤝

• Need-Based Assignments: Volunteering depends on client needs. When a client requires interpreting support, you will receive an email invitation to join a scheduled meeting between the client and attorney, aligned with your availability and interest.
• In-Person & Remote Options: Volunteers can choose to assist in-person, following social distancing and PPE protocols, or remotely from anywhere.

Legal Clinic Interpreting Services 🏛️

We regularly host legal clinics, both in-person and virtual, requiring volunteer interpreters. If you're interested in supporting these events, JDC will keep you informed about upcoming clinic dates and times needing interpretation assistance.
