Job Summary

As a Vietnamese / Tiếng Việt Interpreter, you will facilitate clear and accurate conversations between Vietnamese and English speakers. This paid role requires exceptional linguistic skills, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for effective communication, supporting multilingual initiatives and fostering understanding.

Primary Duties

• Real-time Interpretation: Provide live interpretation during meetings, conferences, and other interactions.
• Document Translation: Translate reports, correspondence, and written materials accurately between Vietnamese and English.
• Support for Multilingual Projects: Assist in community outreach, educational programs, and corporate events with interpretation services.
• Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information professionally and discreetly.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure message clarity and cultural appropriateness.
• Enhance Translation Quality: Use linguistic expertise to refine translations and adapt language nuances for various audiences.

Qualifications & Skills

• Fluency in Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt) and English: Outstanding interpretation abilities in both languages.
• Relevant Experience: Proven track record in translation and interpretation within professional or community settings.
• Linguistic & Cultural Knowledge: Solid understanding of linguistics, cultural sensitivities, and communication techniques.
• Multilingual Support: Additional language skills are a plus.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and confidently under pressure.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in linguistics, translation, or related fields is highly desirable.
