About the Position
The primary purpose of this role is to develop and manage both established and new customers by selling food and non-food items to achieve sales and profitability goals. Key responsibilities include:
- Primary owner of customer relationships
- Engaging customers through value-added activities
- Leveraging resources to identify top penetration opportunities and open new accounts
USF offers a comprehensive training program for the Territory Manager position. Newly-hired TMs may initially be classified as TM Unassigned (E8072) until completing training and receiving their assigned territory. Subsequently, employees may transition into the TM (E7172) role.

Main Ingredients of the Job 🧂
- Foster strong customer relationships within a team-based selling model
- Manage deliveries according to the routing schedule; troubleshoot issues such as delivery mis-picks, short loads, or stock-outs
- Communicate with clients and collect accounts receivable in collaboration with the credit department
- Utilize resources for top penetration opportunities and new account openings
- Develop new business by utilizing market intelligence databases, participating in organizations, trade shows, and following existing leads
- Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, competitors’ offerings, prices, and sales strategies, sharing this information as part of our value-added service
- Drive a motor vehicle to visit existing customers and prospects, including lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs.
What You Bring to the Table 🎯
- Over 1 year of sales experience (foodservice preferred) or culinary/restaurant management background
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a focus on customer service and presentations
- Good standing motor vehicle record
- Problem solving and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills
- High school diploma or equivalent

Note: Compensation varies based on experience, education, skills, location, and applicable laws. The initial base salary for this role is estimated to be between $55,000 - $95,000.
