Job Description 📝
The Teller I plays a vital role in creating legendary customer experiences by processing banking transactions efficiently and accurately, educating customers on TD’s products and services, and referring them to partners for specialized solutions.
Depth & Scope 🔍
- Execute TD’s brand promise by delivering outstanding customer service in-store
- Perform customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loans, and safe deposit payments
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including check cashing and balancing cash drawers
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and concerns, escalating when necessary
- Manage lobby flow, warmly welcoming customers and guiding them appropriately
- Educate customers on banking preferences and digital self-service options
- Conduct needs-based conversations, recommending financial and digital solutions, or referring to partners
- Make sound decisions, resolve issues promptly, and escalate complex problems
- Ensure compliance with all operational policies and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act)
- Verify customer identities following authentication policies
- Balance and manage cash drawers, ATMs, and Teller Dispensers/Recyclers
- Adhere to security procedures and handle confidential information securely
- Follow dual control and security measures to prevent loss and fraud
- Complete required training within specified deadlines
Education & Experience 🎓
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferably 6 months of related experience or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military service
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
