Join a team of dynamic Intelligence Community professionals where you'll leverage your language skills to research, translate, report, and analyze foreign technical materials. Your work will support engineers by translating complex technical manuals, patent documents, and periodicals relating to advanced technology into clear American English.

We are seeking technically minded Mandarin linguists to:

• Translate and analyze technical data on foreign electronic systems, subsystems, and technologies.
• Support research and exploitation of technical sources to assess foreign military capabilities.
• Maintain databases on foreign weapons and C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems.

📝 Responsibilities

• Translate and analyze technical information, focusing on embedded systems, wireless networks, software-defined radios, and communication systems engineering.
• Perform translation, transcription, and quality control of language materials.
• Scan, sort, and categorize foreign language materials efficiently.
• Extract essential information from complex technical documents.
• Render translations and transcripts of sophisticated written materials.
• Support technical assessments through independent research and technical writing.
• Assist engineering teams in evaluating the reliability of foreign equipment and R&D capabilities.
• Utilize OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) tools as required.

🎓 Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in linguistics or related discipline.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, with ≥3/3 on DLPT or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in translation, transcription, or interpretation.
• Proficiency in English with the ability to pass an advanced English test.
• Score ILR Level 3 or higher on targeted language translation assessments.
• Minimum of 3+ years experience on DoD-related programs.
• Strong technical writing skills and system analysis capabilities.
• Deep understanding of geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural factors in Mandarin-speaking areas.
