Responsibilities
- Patient and Visitor Engagement: Greet patients, visitors, and staff courteously, and clearly explain procedures.
- Patient Care: Maintain awareness of patient needs during procedures, provide comfort measures such as blankets and modesty, and reassure patients as needed.
- Communication: Respond promptly to inquiries and refer non-scope matters to appropriate personnel, keeping everyone well-informed.
- Monitoring & Documentation: Observe patient conditions, report abnormal findings, and document appropriately in patient records.
- Measurements & Examinations: Measure and record patient height, weight, pulse, blood pressure, and conduct routine vision and hearing tests.
- Specimen Collection & Phlebotomy: Draw blood, perform finger sticks, and obtain other specimens as directed.
- Diagnostic & Technical Support: Assist with diagnostic procedures, maintain sterile fields, and utilize technical skills in wound care and dressings.
- Specimen Handling & Post-Death Care: Prepare and transport specimens, assist in patient transportation, and care for the deceased as needed.
- Supply Management & Equipment Maintenance: Stock examination and blood drawing rooms, notify relevant personnel for replenishment, and assist with cleaning and equipment repairs.
- Additional Duties: Answer telephones, schedule appointments, and perform other related tasks as required.
Position Details
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday, with varied hours from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and alternate Saturdays). The location is NYP Medical Group Brooklyn in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification
- One or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- EKG and phlebotomy experience
- Bilingual skills: Fluent in English and Cantonese or Mandarin
Must-Have Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- BCLS Certification
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant with proficiency in phlebotomy

Important Notes
All roles require an on-site presence, with location flexibility per role. Employees must reside within a commutable distance to NYP, as travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
