DevDocs Is Hiring A Technical Translator (Remote, Developer-Focused Docs)

🔧 Join DevDocs as a Freelance Technical Blog Editor and Earn Up to $50 per Post!

Get paid to enhance the quality of developer-focused translations! DevDocs is seeking skilled freelance editors to refine blogs translated by AI, offering flexible remote work opportunities.

About the Role

We are looking for experienced editors to help improve technical content that has been automatically translated. This part-time, flexible position is ideal for translators, technical writers, or engineers eager to dedicate a few hours weekly.

Your main responsibility will be to edit developer-centric blogs, ensuring the translations are accurate, natural-sounding, and valuable to the end user. We need more than proofreading—we want editors who can identify where the meaning might be lost and reframe translations to sound as if originally written in the target language.

Compensation & Work Details 💸

  • Pay per blog: $50
  • Estimated editing time: 1–3 hours per blog, depending on complexity
  • Flexibility: Accept work based on your availability; no fixed schedule

Requirements ✅

  • Native-level fluency in at least one of the following languages:
    • Korean
    • Japanese
    • Dutch
    • French
    • German
    • Italian
    • Polish
    • Brazilian Portuguese
    • European Spanish
    • Latin American Spanish
    • Swedish
    • Hebrew
  • Strong written English comprehension to accurately interpret source content in English
  • Technical fluency: familiar with developer documentation, APIs, or software-related content (coding experience not required, but recognition of technical accuracy is essential)
  • Experience editing translations or technical documents is preferred
  • Ability to revise machine-translated text into natural, clear, and contextually appropriate writing
  • Comfort working with common file formats: Markdown, Google Docs, Word documents, etc.
  • Attention to detail: capable of catching subtle meaning loss and nuances that affect clarity and accuracy
