🔍 Position Overview

This is a temporary substitute position for a teacher's aide or teacher in our Lower School and Early Childhood Education Center (Maternelle, Grades PK-5). The role begins as soon as possible and continues according to your availability. You will support substitute coverage for faculty absences across various grades.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children responsibly, ensuring their safety at all times
• Assist teachers and assistants with organizational and material needs
• Lead small student group activities
• Support pedagogical methods aligned with school philosophy and review lesson plans beforehand
• Foster student well-being and engagement, monitoring emotional and physical safety
• Prepare materials for daily activities and projects each morning
• Supervise snack distribution and manage classroom cleanliness
• Organize and display student work weekly
• Maintain classroom materials in good condition for ongoing use

🛠 Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in French and/or English
• Experience working with children
• Bachelor's Degree
• Certified in early childhood education or working towards certification (at least 6 ECE units, 12 preferred)
• CPR & First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification upon hire
• Physical and mental capacity to care for large groups of children, including lifting up to 70 lbs
• Aware of young children’s needs and capable of setting appropriate expectations
• Able to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and carry children as needed
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, minimal absences

💰 Salary & Compensation

Daily rate: $150.00 - $175.00

• Short-term substitute (1-12 weeks): $150.00 per day
• Long-term substitute (13+ weeks): $175.00 per day
