Location: Manhattan, NY

Type: Temp-to-Hire

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Requirements:

  • 🎓 High school diploma or equivalent
  • 🩺 Advanced knowledge of medical insurance verification, prior authorization processes, and reimbursement methodologies
  • 💼 Prior experience in healthcare billing, collections, or revenue cycle operations
  • 🌐 Bilingual in English and Spanish

Role Overview:

In this role, you will act as the lead specialist handling insurance verification, benefits investigation, prior authorizations, and re-authorizations. You will utilize payer portals, electronic systems, and direct communication with payers to ensure seamless processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Insurance Authorization & Revenue Cycle Operations:
    • Lead insurance verification, benefits investigation, prior authorizations, and re-authorizations
    • Interpret payer policies, coverage criteria, and reimbursement rules
    • Validate eligibility, deductibles, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket maximums prior to services
    • Resolve authorization issues and denial cases collaboratively with clinicians and billing teams
    • Monitor turnaround times, escalate delays, and report key performance metrics
    • Maintain organized documentation for audits and compliance purposes
  • Work Process Management & Technical Administration:
    • Optimize workflows related to authorizations, scheduling, documentation, and billing readiness
    • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Coordinate clinician schedules with authorization needs
    • Ensure daily billing readiness using practice management software and tracking systems
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    • Audit the accuracy of authorizations, completeness of documentation, and billing procedures
