Job Summary: Senior Director, Bible Technology Team
The Senior Director, Bible Technology Team leads the management of daily operations, strategic implementation, product lifecycle, and personnel related to Biblica’s innovative suite of Bible translation tools. These technologies leverage machine learning and natural language processing to auto-align target language texts with original Greek and Hebrew scriptures, aiding translators in ensuring accuracy and consistency.
This executive role oversees a talented team of software developers, linguists, data scientists, Biblical scholars, and systems architects. Collaboration with senior leadership, especially the Vice President of Digital Innovation, ensures that Bible Technology strategies align with Biblica’s overall vision and the broader Bible translation movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Operations: Manage daily operations, team building, and strategic initiatives for the Bible Technology suite.
- Strategy & Collaboration: Work with leadership to develop and implement technology strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Team Management: Lead, develop, and oversee high-performance teams including vendors and contractors.
- Budget & Planning: Set goals, manage budgets, and oversee project milestones and deliverables.
- System Architecture & Innovation: Collaborate on system design, data management, and innovative solutions to meet translation needs.
- Representation & Industry Awareness: Represent Biblica at relevant meetings, stay abreast of technological and industry trends.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership and supervision skills across technical and academic teams.
- Ability to manage remote, globally distributed teams effectively.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Assertiveness and resilience with the capacity to advocate and stand firm in beliefs and decisions.
- Knowledge of modern technology landscapes and ability to communicate effectively with technologists.
- Innovative problem-solving skills with a creative approach to technology solutions.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in product, business, project management, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles involving organizational operations and team management.
- 2-3 years of product management experience.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience with multiple direct reports.
- Experience working with software engineers and linguistic experts is advantageous.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Remote work capability, ability to work independently.
- Prolonged sitting at a desk, working on a computer.
- Flexible working hours including occasional meetings outside traditional hours.
- Ability to obtain or possess a valid passport with up to 15% travel required.

FLSA Classification & Compensation
Classification: Exempt
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $103,016 - $131,346 (based on experience)
Hours: 40+ hours per week
