About the Role
The Safety Manager will report directly to the leader of the Smart Factory teams and hold full responsibility for managing safety across the sites. Your expertise will help promote safe, healthy working conditions and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Job Summary
The Safety Manager is responsible for administering and implementing comprehensive health and safety programs, performing complex assignments, maintaining schedules, leading professional teams and contractors, and supporting environmental health and safety policies and procedures. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Safety Oversight: Manage daily project safety initiatives and ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
- Plan Development: Assist in creating site-specific safety plans and procedures for various safety issues.
- Implementation: Effectively execute safety plans and procedures on-site.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze safety metrics throughout the year to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Incident Management: Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and report findings to corporate safety teams with recommendations.
- Documentation & Alerts: Prepare incident reports, safety alerts, and maintain all relevant documentation.
- Hazard Management: Develop hazard mitigation strategies and oversee safety audits.
- Safety System Compliance: Monitor and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local levels.
- Work Practice Monitoring: Observe and enforce safe work practices, evaluate hazards, and conduct job safety analyses (JSAs).
- Training Coordination: Schedule and coordinate safety training sessions as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 4-5 years in health and safety management within manufacturing or large construction projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Certifications: OSHA certification preferred.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of HSE systems, metrics, KPIs, statistical methods, and OSHA regulations.
- Skills: Adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with excellent project and time management capabilities.
