📝 Job Summary
The Safety Manager will be responsible for administering and implementing health and safety programs to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, promoting safe and healthy working conditions. This role involves managing complex assignments, maintaining schedules, leading professional teams and contractors, and supporting environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
🔧 Duties & Essential Job Functions
- Safety Oversight: Manage day-to-day project safety initiatives and monitor compliance with regulations and policies.
- Planning: Develop site-specific safety plans and procedures addressing various safety issues.
- Implementation: Execute site safety plans and procedures effectively.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze safety metrics throughout the year to inform safety strategies.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into safety incidents, perform root cause analysis, and report findings with recommended corrective actions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare incident reports and safety alerts, ensuring proper documentation.
- Hazard Management: Develop hazard mitigation strategies and oversee site safety audits.
- Compliance: Maintain and implement Safety Management System programs, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations at company, local, state, and federal levels.
- Safe Work Practices: Observe and ensure the implementation of safe work practices on-site, evaluating hazards and work environments.
- Training: Schedule and coordinate safety training sessions as required.
🛡️ Qualifications & Requirements
- 4-5 years of experience in Health and Safety management, preferably on large manufacturing or construction projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Proficiency with HSE systems, metrics, KPIs, tools, and statistical methods.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations.
- Sound knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology.
- Bilingual Korean language skills are required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver sustainable, high-quality results.
- Excellent project management and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification is preferred.
