Job Description

The Retail Banker II acts as a customer liaison, crucial to delivering TD's Brand promise by providing financial expertise and consultative advice. They assist customers with banking solutions and aim to meet their financial goals while fostering strong relationships. 🏦🤝

Depth & Scope

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on products, services, policies, and procedures for both personal and business banking.
  • Provide product recommendations tailored to customer needs, highlighting features and benefits.
  • Establish and nurture customer relationships through active listening and solutions offering.
  • Use Customer Relationship Management tools for assessments and proactive sales activities.
  • Independently resolve issues, escalate when necessary, and explain complex information clearly.
  • Build effective working relationships with customers and team members.
  • Participate in outreach, service, and advice activities to deliver a remarkably human experience.
  • Engage customers in conversations about loan products, processing applications as needed.
  • Maintain active registration with NMLS for mortgage-related activities.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in customer service or sales; teller experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and strong organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and self-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to deliver community services, including financial education classes.
  • Notary License is preferred.

Customer Accountabilities

  • Deliver a Legendary Customer experience through trust-building, support, and proactive insights. 🌟
  • Act as a customer advocate, providing advice and resolving concerns effectively.
  • Manage a variety of teller transactions while ensuring adherence to operational policies and fraud mitigation.
  • Educate customers on banking self-service options and digital channels.
  • Share financial knowledge to help customers meet and exceed their financial goals.
  • Support customers through challenging times and life events as a brand champion.

Shareholder Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance with operational, legal, and regulatory requirements like the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
  • Promote the full suite of products and banking capabilities.
  • Complete transactions and documentation accurately, supporting operational excellence.
  • Escalate high-risk or non-standard activities as needed.
  • Adhere to TD's Code of Conduct and risk policies.

Employee & Team Responsibilities

  • Support a positive, collaborative work environment focused on service, quality, and innovation.
  • Engage in ongoing knowledge development and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in performance management and development activities.
  • Build strong relationships with team members and partner bankers for referrals.
  • Contribute to organizational success and adapt to change positively.

Regulatory and Physical Requirements

This role qualifies as a Loan Originator under Regulation Z and the SAFE Act. Candidates must be eligible for registration with NMLS, pass background and credit checks, and adhere to all legal requirements.

Physical Demands: Sit, stand, walk, lift under 25 lbs., operate office equipment, and respond to sounds are required regularly. Occasional travel, including domestic travel, may be involved.
