About the Role

As a Trilingual Interpreter, you will facilitate accurate, culturally appropriate communication for clients with limited English proficiency. Whether assisting during medical appointments or helping access essential services, your role directly contributes to positive, real-world outcomes.

This is a structured, professional call center position demanding interpreter expertise in complex conversations, idiomatic expressions, technical terminology, and emotionally charged interactions. Success requires professionalism, active listening, emotional resilience, and strict adherence to confidentiality and neutrality protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• 🔄 Provide consecutive interpretation across medical, legal, customer service, and other sectors, in English, Fuzhounese, Mandarin, and Cantonese
• 🔍 Ensure complete accuracy, clarity, and neutrality, preserving tone and intent
• 🔐 Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
• 🎯 Manage call flow professionally, intervening respectfully for clarification when needed
• 🤝 Demonstrate emotional intelligence, especially in high-pressure or sensitive interactions
• 📝 Use memory techniques, active listening, and note-taking to handle long exchanges
• 🚫 Stay within the interpreter role, avoiding personal opinions or advice
• 🎓 Engage in ongoing training, coaching, and feedback sessions to improve skills
• 💻 Use computer tools (MS Office, internal platforms) to manage calls and logs effectively

Required Qualifications

• 🎓 High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
• 🌐 Fluency in English, Fuzhounese, Mandarin, and Cantonese at B2+ proficiency or higher
• ✔️ Ability to pass language and interpreting skills assessments
• 🛎️ Minimum 6 months of call center, customer service, or interpreting experience
• 🗣️ Strong verbal communication, accuracy, and professionalism in fast-paced, emotionally complex situations
• 🔒 Demonstrated integrity, time management, and sense of responsibility
• 🖥️ Basic computer skills: typing and MS Office navigation
• 🤫 A quiet, distraction-free workspace suitable for active listening
• 🌐 Stable, high-speed internet connection (no cellular hotspots allowed)
• 🆔 Must provide valid government-issued photo ID during recruiting and training
