About the Role

As a Trilingual Interpreter at TPC, you'll play a crucial role in supporting limited-English speakers in medical, legal, financial, and customer service settings. Your expertise will help ensure clear, accurate communication during live, high-pressure calls, including complex conversations involving specialized terminology and emotional nuance.

Key Responsibilities 💼

• Interpret professionally between English, Fuzhounese, Mandarin, and Cantonese across multiple industries.
• Guarantee accuracy, neutrality, and emotional tone preservation during interpretations.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
• Manage call flow, respectfully intervening for clarifications when necessary.
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence during challenging or emotionally charged interactions.
• Utilize active listening, note-taking, and memory techniques to handle extended exchanges.
• Stay within the interpreter's role, avoiding personal opinions or advice.
• Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and feedback to continually improve skills.
• Use basic computer tools like MS Office and internal platforms to log activities and manage calls.

Required Qualifications ✅

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Fluency (B2+ or higher) in English, Fuzhounese, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
• Ability to pass language and interpreting skills assessments.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in call center, customer service, or interpreting roles.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ethical judgment.
• Professionalism, integrity, and effective time management.
• Comfortable assertive communication and session control.
• Proficiency in computer use, including typing and MS Office.
• Quiet, distraction-free workspace conducive to active listening.
• Stable home internet connection (cable, DSL, or fiber).
• Valid, government-issued photo ID during recruitment and training.

Preferred Qualifications ⭐

• Certification in medical, legal, or community interpreting (a strong plus).
• Experience with remote work tools and communication platforms.

• Desktop or laptop (Windows or Mac) with ≥16GB RAM.
• Broadband internet (minimum 30 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload).
