About the Role

At TPC, interpreters facilitate accurate and culturally sensitive communication for limited-English speakers in a professional call center environment. Whether assisting patients, clients, or service users, your fluency in English, Fuzhounese, Mandarin, and Cantonese will be crucial in delivering high-quality interpretation.

This structured role requires professional-level command of multiple languages, with the ability to interpret complex, idiomatic, and specialized content efficiently and accurately. Success depends on active listening, emotional resilience, professionalism, empathy, and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities 💼

• Provide interpretation services between English, Fuzhounese, Mandarin, and Cantonese across various sectors (medical, legal, customer service, etc.)
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and neutrality by preserving tone, intent, and emotion during interpretation
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
• Manage call flow professionally, respectfully intervening for clarification when needed
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence during high-pressure or emotionally charged interactions
• Utilize memory retention, active listening, and note-taking techniques for longer exchanges
• Stay within the interpreter’s role, avoiding offering personal opinions or advice
• Engage in ongoing training and coaching to continually improve skills
• Use basic computer tools (MS Office, internal platforms) to manage calls and log activities

Required Qualifications ✅

• High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
• Fluency in English, Fuzhounese, Mandarin, and Cantonese (B2+ proficiency or higher)

• Minimum 6 months of experience in call centers, customer service, or interpreting
