Job Summary

As a Bilingual Mental Health Patient Navigator, you will facilitate seamless communication between our mental health professionals and clients. Your proficiency in both languages will be essential in creating an inclusive, supportive environment. Your daily responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling appointments
  • Maintaining accurate client records
  • Responding to inquiries via phone and email
  • Supporting administrative tasks
  • Interacting with patients and healthcare providers daily

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate appointments for both Spanish and English-speaking clients, ensuring prompt and clear communication.
  • Explain Patient Financial Responsibility in a transparent, simple manner and handle collection of deductibles and co-pays.
  • Maintain client records with attention to confidentiality and privacy regulations.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and other channels in both languages, providing accurate and helpful information.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry and billing processes.
  • Handle crisis situations professionally, following established protocols.
  • Show empathy, respect, and cultural understanding to foster a supportive environment.
  • Uphold confidentiality when managing sensitive client information.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent communication skills in both languages
  • Experience working in a HIPAA-compliant environment
  • Previous experience in a healthcare administrative or receptionist role, preferably in mental health
  • Knowledge of mental health terminology and practices is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and multitasking ability
  • Proficiency with computer systems such as MS Office, Athena EMR, etc.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and able to stay calm under pressure
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy importance in mental health services
  • Culturally sensitive with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Willingness to adapt and contribute in a fast-paced startup environment
