About the Role

As an Area Manager in Business Banking, you will oversee a team of Business Relationship Managers (BRMs), driving new business development and strengthening existing client relationships. Your leadership will position JPMorgan Chase as the primary bank for our clients, fostering growth and client satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Leadership & Support: Provide guidance, management, and support to your team of BRMs in developing deposit, cash management, and credit solutions, emphasizing relationship-building, client experience, and risk management.
• Performance Management: Monitor and manage individual team member performance, ensuring achievement of business goals with a focus on client satisfaction and risk mitigation.
• Revenue & Risk Oversight: Oversee area's revenue, profitability, and compliance with credit quality, regulatory standards, and risk protocols. Utilize reports and metrics to identify trends, address issues, and escalate concerns promptly.
• Coaching & Development: Mentor your team on portfolio management, prospecting, profitability, and risk. Provide expertise on loan structuring, pricing, and creating tailored solutions to complex challenges.
• Client Engagement: Ensure BRMs understand their clients’ financial goals, connecting them with specialists to meet their needs effectively.
• Building Partnerships: Foster collaborative relationships across business lines—Chase Wealth Management, Home Lending, Branch Teams, Commercial Bank, and Private Bank—to promote a unified, client-centric environment. Represent JPMorgan Chase in community initiatives such as Chamber of Commerce and non-profit boards.
• Talent Acquisition: Actively recruit, hire, develop, and retain diverse top talent, cultivating an inclusive team environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in Business Banking Relationship Management or related business lending roles with direct in-person contact.
• Expert knowledge of deposit products, cash management services, and business credit underwriting, including commercial credit training.
• Strong communication skills for interaction at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
• Ability to analyze reports, metrics, and data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships within organizations, leading proactively through change. A strong business network and leadership presence in community organizations are advantageous.
• Strong time management skills, balancing client needs, risk considerations, and organizational demands.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for key business meetings and training sessions.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience managing a relationship development team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite—Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Base Salary Range: $152,000.00 - $205,000.00 per year 💵
