Hourly Pay Range 💰

🎯 The hourly pay rate offered ranges from $24.75 - $38.36, determined by a candidate's expertise, years of experience, and other relevant factors.

Position Highlights 🏫

• Position: Registered Nurse PEL School Program
• Location: School assignment will be determined by supervisor, working in School District 205
• Full-Time: 40 hours/week
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:45am - 3:45pm

What You Will Do 📝

• Provide age-appropriate patient care, demonstrating necessary knowledge and skills.
• Respond promptly to injuries or sudden illnesses affecting students or staff members.
• Maintain up-to-date health records for all students in compliance with state and school policies.
• Administer and monitor medications and prescribed treatments during school hours.
• Identify and refer students with medical, dental, or healthcare needs, consulting with parents, staff, physicians, and agencies.
• Advise on exclusion and readmission policies for students with infectious diseases.
• Implement health and wellness programs as requested by staff.
• Provide in-services and health advice to school staff.
• Make home visits to observe students and their families as needed.
• Conduct vision and hearing screenings, making appropriate referrals.
• Follow and uphold school health policies and district guidelines.
• Advise on modifications to educational programs to meet students’ health needs.
• Evaluate environmental safety and ensure a safe setting based on age and developmental status.
• Participate in meetings related to student health services and curriculum.

What You Will Need ✅

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Certification: Current Type 73 School Nurse Certification and CPR certification through American Heart Association
• License: Current Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Licensure
• Experience: Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
