We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Regional Sales Director to spearhead our growth in Japan, fostering relationships, leading a talented team, and expanding our market footprint.

About the Role

The Regional Sales Director will serve as the senior commercial leader for Japan, directing enterprise sales strategies, managing key accounts, and developing the local sales team. The ideal candidate will possess deep enterprise software sales experience, a strong executive presence, and exceptional skills in navigating complex customer environments across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead Gurobi’s enterprise sales strategy and revenue initiatives across Japan.
  • Target Achievement: Own and meet regional sales targets, driving ACV growth and pipeline development.
  • Team Development: Mentor, lead, and nurture a high-performing sales team based in Japan.
  • Forecasting & Pipeline Management: Drive forecasting discipline, manage the sales pipeline, and execute strategic deals.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain executive-level relationships with strategic customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Account Management: Personally oversee a select group of enterprise accounts within Japan.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to grow Gurobi’s presence in key industries and enterprise segments.
  • Collaborative Initiatives: Work closely with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and Leadership teams.
  • Regional Marketing & Ecosystem: Partner with marketing and expand relationships with ecosystem partners and system integrators in Japan.
  • Forecast & Market Watch: Maintain accurate forecasts and stay informed of market developments, AI, analytics, and competitive activities.
  • Sales Culture: Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and accountable sales environment aligned with Gurobi’s values.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of enterprise software sales experience, especially in complex SaaS or enterprise solutions.
  • 5+ years in sales leadership and management roles.
  • Proven success in achieving sales targets within Japan’s enterprise market.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to cultivate executive relationships within large organizations in Japan.
  • Experience in global or matrixed organizational environments is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related fields.
  • Fluent in Japanese (spoken and written) and proficient in English.

  • Experience in optimization, analytics, AI, or decision intelligence solutions.
  • Established relationships within manufacturing, automotive, logistics, or financial sectors in Japan.
  • Experience working with channel partners and consulting organizations.
  • Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Power BI, and enterprise sales platforms.
