We are looking for a dedicated Recertification Specialist to support our vibrant communities in Roslindale and Jamaica Plain.

Position Overview

Location: Roslindale, MA 02131 (split schedule across two sites)
Classification: Non-exempt (overtime eligible)

This position is primarily focused on recertifications and compliance for two high-volume properties operating under Project-Based Section 8, LIHTC (Tax Credit), and Portable Voucher programs. It involves direct resident interaction and requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recertification & Compliance Responsibilities

  • Conduct resident interviews for initial, annual, and interim recertifications 📝
  • Request and follow up on third-party verifications 📞
  • Review and process resident documentation for accuracy and completeness ✔️
  • Calculate income, assets, and rent following HUD and LIHTC guidelines 💰
  • Identify discrepancies, ensuring all program requirements are met ✅
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready tenant files 📂
  • Track recertification deadlines and proactively follow up with residents ⏰

Administrative & Office Support

  • Assist residents with walk-ins, questions, and support services 🤝
  • Answer calls and respond to inquiries professionally 📞
  • Manage documents: scanning, filing, faxing, and obtaining signatures 🗃️
  • Support work order entry and tracking 🛠️
  • Help maintain organized records and office systems 📊
  • Support daily operations in a dynamic property management office 🚪

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of recertification experience in affordable housing (Section 8, LIHTC, or similar programs) 🏢
  • Ability to independently manage resident files from start to finish 🔓
  • Bilingual in Spanish — comfortable communicating in a professional setting 🗣️
  • Strong understanding of income verification, compliance, and recertification processes 📋
  • Excellent multitasking skills in a high-volume environment 🎯
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy 🧐
  • Resident-focused communication style, professional and patient 💬
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) 💻
  • Experience with Yardi or similar property management software (a plus) 📲
  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred 🎓
