Join a dynamic library team dedicated to cataloging rare and non-rare materials in Hebrew and Western European languages, supporting the educational mission of Yeshiva University with an engaging 19-hour weekly role. 🚀

Position Overview

Position Summary

Perform original and copy cataloging for rare and non-rare materials in Hebrew and Western European languages. Utilize bibliographic utilities like OCLC to create accurate descriptive data, input records into Virtua, the integrated library system. This role is donor-funded for approximately 19 hours per week, with an end date to be discussed during the interview.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform original and copy cataloging of materials in Hebrew and other languages under the supervision of a catalog librarian 📚
  • Use bibliographic utilities to create precise descriptive data 🖥️
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 🔧

Experience & Educational Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of library experience preferred 🏢
  • ALA-accredited master's degree in library science highly preferred 🎓

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in reading Hebrew required 📖
  • Basic knowledge of European languages desired 🌍
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds safely 💪
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail 🔍

Salary Range 💰

$17.00 - $35.00 per hour
