Position Overview

Position: Project Accountant

Location: Onsite in San Francisco, CA

In this role, you'll work closely with project delivery teams to manage client and vendor billings, support revenue and cash flow forecasting, coordinate lien waivers, and collaborate with corporate accounting. You'll also play a key role in implementing a new ERP system and ensuring the accuracy of project financials.

Key Responsibilities

📊 Project Financial Planning & Forecasting

• Develop and maintain project-level revenue, cost, and cash-flow models in coordination with Project Managers.
• Support tracking of budgets, committed costs, actual costs, and forecasted costs to project completion.

💰 Project Cost Control & Accounts Payable

• Serve as the main point of contact for invoicing questions from internal and external stakeholders.
• Process vendor and subcontractor invoices, lien waivers, and evaluate invoice accuracy.
• Coordinate invoice approvals with project teams and maintain accurate job-cost records.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance work efficiency.

🧾 Client Billing & Revenue Support

• Assist Project Managers in preparing and issuing client invoices and lien waivers.
• Support progress, milestone, and final invoicing processes.
• Monitor accounts receivable and coordinate collection efforts.

💻 ERP System Implementation & Financial Systems

• Support SAP ERP system launch, including data validation and testing.
• Define workflows between Procore and the ERP system to ensure seamless integration.
• Maintain consistent financial data across systems.

📈 Procore Financial Management

• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure project financial data in Procore is accurate.
• Reconcile Procore costs with accounting records, identify discrepancies, and assist in corrective actions.

📊 Project Financial Reporting & Controls

• Generate monthly financial health reports for projects.
• Work with Project Managers on project final costs, cash flow, and profitability analysis.
• Support monthly and quarterly closing activities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of project accounting experience in construction environments.
• Bilingual in Korean.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and job-cost accounting.
• Experience with lien waivers and revenue/cash-flow forecasting.
• Familiarity with project management software like Procore and SAP ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with SAP ERP required.
• Detail-oriented with a sense of ownership and accountability.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with Project Managers and Finance teams.
• Proactive problem solver with high integrity.
• CPA certification is a plus but not required.

Salary & Compensation

The salary range aligns with the California Pay Transparency Act and varies based on experience, education, licenses, and other factors. Actual compensation will be discussed during the hiring process.
