Overview

Are you a tech-savvy language enthusiast eager to utilize your skills? As a Linguistic QA Tester at Welocalize, you'll test applications, e-courses, marketing materials, and more—helping deliver local and global products of the highest quality. Position Details

• Job Title: QA Linguistic Tester
• Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid)
• Hourly Rate: $25 (Negotiable depending on experience)
• Hours: Part-Time (Flexible, varies based on project needs)
• Schedule: Set your own hours within Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Pacific
• Start Date: ASAP
• Employment Type: Part-Time W2 Employee (benefits available based on hours worked)
• Work Authorization: Valid US work authorization required (no visa sponsorship)

Note: The role requires on-site work at least once a week (about 6 hours) during business hours. Flexibility with the schedule is essential due to varying project demands.

Candidate Requirements

• Language Skills: Proficiency in Polish (ILR Level 5 or CEF C2)
• English Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for bug reporting and following instructions
• Technical Knowledge: Up-to-date with common technical language in the target language and English
• Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with computers, mobile devices, Microsoft Office (or equivalents), and browsers
• Device Knowledge: Basic understanding of smartphones (iPhone/Android)
• Experience: Localization QA experience preferred
• Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing hours and schedules

Key Responsibilities

• Bug Reporting: Write and report errors using bug tracking software
• Quality Evaluation: Assess translation quality in Polish within given contexts
• Subject Matter Expertise: Be a linguistic expert for the target language
• Research & Resolution: Investigate and resolve linguistic questions
• Standards & Guidelines: Follow project-specific quality standards, style guides, checklists, and glossaries
• Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve basic computer/connectivity issues
• Communication: Clearly communicate issues and escalate when necessary
• Task Completion: Complete tasks accurately and promptly
