Job Summary
The In-Person Interpreter (IPI) will provide onsite language support for Limited English Proficient (LEP) community members across various medical settings. This flexible freelance role offers opportunities to expand your interpreting business with access to multiple sessions daily via our innovative AMN IPI App.

In-Person Interpreter Responsibilities
- Provide effective onsite interpreting service for healthcare consumers.
- Maintain professional appearance and behavior, including punctuality and preparedness.
- Adapt quickly to new and changing technologies.
- Pass required screening processes before committing to in-person sessions.
- Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedural guidelines specific to medical settings.
- Respect cultural and linguistic nuances of LEP clients, understanding their beliefs and preferences regarding medical procedures.
- Show passion for customer service and interpreting excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
- Fluency in both Persian and English, with strong verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of ethics and practice standards (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
- Recent HIPAA Business Associates Training Certificate (completed within the last year).
Preferred Qualifications
- Interpreting certifications or degrees in medical interpreting.
- National Medical Interpreter Certification by CCHI or NBCMI.
- Completion of accredited medical interpreting courses (e.g., ALTA, MITS, Bridging the Gap, MiTio, Cross-Cultural training).
- Minimum of 2 years medical interpreting experience in hospital or clinical environments.
