Hourly Pay Range 💰

$19.89 - $28.84 — The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights 🏥

• Position: Patient Access Representative
• Location: Elmhurst
• Employment Type: Full Time
• Hours: 8am to 8:30pm with 1 weekend per month and holiday rotation

What You Will Need 📝

Education 🎓

• High School diploma or GED
• Associate degree in business or healthcare (Preferred)

License 📄

• A valid driver’s license is required if performing duties at an off-site location.
• If using personal vehicle, must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law. Evidence of coverage may be requested.

Experience & Skills (Preferred) 🌟

• Manual dexterity to operate various office machines
• Minimum one to two years of experience in registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections, or customer service within a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology, and anatomy
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Bilingual skills

What You Will Do 🚑

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, you will:

• Provide timely and accurate pre-registrations, registrations, order management, charge capture, cash collection functions, and management of medical information systems for in-patient, out-patient, emergency room, immediate care, and same-day surgery patients.
• Collect, analyze, and record demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data from multiple sources.
• Obtain necessary signatures and information for billing and registration processes.
• Screens for third-party eligibility and enters medical necessity coding to ensure accurate payment.
• Engage with patients and families in a customer-focused manner, addressing their needs and explaining hospital revenue cycle expectations, including payment options.
