About the Position

We are seeking a dynamic, reliable, and engaging French teacher to become part of our vibrant team. This role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to connect with learners across diverse settings.

Location

• San Francisco, CA
• Onsite in San Francisco and/or Sausalito

Schedule (Dependent on your availability, location, and experience)

• Evenings, Tuesday through Thursday, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Mornings in Sausalito (typically 3 to 4 hours weekly, Wednesdays and Thursdays early mornings)
• Saturday morning kids classes (school year)
• Saturday morning and early afternoon adult classes (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

Additional Opportunities

• Online classes on Mondays
• Private lessons (onsite and online)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in FLE (Français Langue Étrangère) OR
• DAEFLE certification
• DELF examiner/corrector certification (habilitation examinateur-correcteur DELF)

Additional Requirements

Candidates without a French teaching diploma will need to obtain the CPAFP teaching certificate. Alliance Française San Francisco will support and assist in registration for this training.

Compensation & Benefits Details 💰

Starting January 1, 2025:

• Preparation time paid separately from teaching hours
• Compensation rate for a standard 1-hour online class: $35 per class hour
• Additional $5 for 15 minutes of preparation per class hour
• Specialty workshops (e.g., yoga, cooking): 30 minutes prep per hour of class
• Prep Time: $20 per hour of class

Class Rates

• Private Classes (1-3 students, online or onsite): $30.00 per hour + 15 min prep ($5), totaling a net rate of $30 + $5
• Group Classes & Workshops (4-14 students), online: $35.00 per hour + 15 min prep
• Group Classes & Workshops (4-14 students), onsite: $40.00 per hour + 15 min prep
• Exam Prep & Specialty Workshops (DELF/DALF, TCF, yoga, painting, wine tasting): $40.00 per hour + 30 min prep

After 6 months, employees are eligible for 401(k) with 1% matching.
