Department Overview 🧳

The Department of World Languages and Cultures offers diverse opportunities in language acquisition and cultural studies, focusing on 13 languages, intercultural competence, and global engagement. Our faculty are committed to innovative teaching and research that prepare students for international careers.

Part-Time and Limited Term Faculty Positions in World Languages and Cultures 🌎

We are accepting applications for open-rank, part-time and limited-term faculty roles for the 2025-2026 academic year. Positions are semester-by-semester, based on departmental needs and candidate credentials.

Key Responsibilities 📚

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in languages such as American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and World Language Education

Assignments will align with earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications ✅

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in the specific discipline or a closely related field at the time of hire
    OR
    Minimum of a Master’s degree in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline

Preferred Qualifications 🌟

  • Native or near-native fluency in target language(s)
  • Prior teaching experience in world languages and cultures
  • Experience in online or hybrid course delivery
