I. Position Summary
The primary focus of this role is to assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as toileting, bathing, and dressing, while also assessing their need for additional medical attention. Nursing Assistants will help residents manage medications under supervision and participate in the recreation program to promote holistic well-being.

III. Position Responsibilities
- Assist residents with ADLs including toileting, bathing, dressing, and feeding cues
- Support residents with ambulation and mobility devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs)
- Help with additional devices like glasses and hearing aids
- Perform treatments such as vital signs, weights, temperatures, skin care, and range of motion exercises
- Administer medications under supervision, ensuring proper documentation
- Maintain and update various record-keeping systems and documentation tools
- Contribute to care plan development, implementation, and evaluation
- Escort residents to medical appointments within the community
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness in residents’ rooms, bathrooms, storage, and common areas
- Manage bed making and linen changes
- Monitor stock levels of supplies needed for resident care and communicate needs to the Nursing Director
- Report unsanitary conditions, hazards, and faulty equipment
- Handle laundry for residents
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical and cognitive/emotional status
- Support the Therapeutic Recreation Department in daily activities and events
- Assist residents during recreation programs and transportation
- Work flexible hours as assigned, including night shifts (11 p.m. - 7 a.m.)
- Ensure resident safety and engagement during night hours
- Maintain security and document incidents/issues for communication with day staff
- Participate in training staff and any other duties as assigned
IV. Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensed in Massachusetts
- Minimum 2 years of direct service experience with the elderly
- Experience or familiarity working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders (minimum 1 year)
- Sensitivity and understanding of aging issues
- Flexibility in scheduling and teamwork skills
- Medication administration experience required
- Experience in assisted living or similar facilities working with multiple residents
V. Physical Requirements 💪
