- Salary: Commensurate with experience and education, as per the agreement between the Seekonk School Department and the Seekonk Educators Association

- Reports To: Building Principal
Job Description
The World Language Teacher will facilitate engaging learning experiences in Foreign Language (Spanish and Portuguese), adhering to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements.
Qualifications 🎓
- Licensed, or eligible for licensure in World Language (5-12) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults
- Commitment to staying current in content knowledge and teaching strategies
- Ability to relate well with students, colleagues, parents, and staff
Responsibilities & Essential Functions 📝
- Develop and implement curriculum plans for assigned subjects, providing written evidence of preparation as required
- Design and utilize appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment, accommodating students with IEPs or 504 Plans
- Collaborate with staff to plan and execute instructional goals aligned with MA Curriculum Frameworks
- Integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning processes
- Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and enhance student achievement
- Serve as a positive role model, supporting the school's mission
- Create a respectful, challenging, and responsive environment that addresses diverse student needs, including physical, social, and emotional development
- Implement sound behavior management practices and administer discipline in accordance with school policies
- Establish and maintain open communication with students and parents
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
- Supervise and provide guidance to any assigned Teaching Assistants (Paraprofessionals)
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the SEA contract
