Middle East/Africa North Wiki Intern

Location: Salt Lake City, UT, United States (Hybrid)

Job Type: Part-time, Temporary

Job Description

The Middle East/Africa North Wiki Intern will be responsible for enhancing Wiki pages for the ME/AN region. This includes compiling links to new resources, improving organization, and identifying content suitable for promotion or inclusion in user journeys. The intern may also develop marketing and training materials, such as blogs and videos.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ME/AN Outreach, Content, and Product teams to improve Wiki content 📝
• Review relevant Wiki pages with ME/AN teams 🔍
• Add genealogy databases, websites, and other resources to aid patrons in ancestral research 🌐
• Highlight genealogical research strategies and guidance 📚
• Create three educational resources to facilitate Wiki utilization 🎓
• Promote relevant Wiki sections in collaboration with the Outreach team 📢

Qualifications

• College-level student or recent graduate 🎓
• Bachelor’s Degree (awarded or nearing completion) in Middle East Studies, Arabic Language, History, or related fields 📖
• Proficiency in reading Arabic (Hebrew and Farsi are a plus) ✍️
• Strong research skills 🔎
• Ability to synthesize knowledge into clear written content 📝
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness of Middle Eastern demographics 🌏
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills 💬
• Self-motivated and organized 📅
• Comfortable working remotely 💻

Other Details

• Pay Rate: $21/hour 💵
• Hours per week: Up to 28 hours ⏰
• Internship Duration: Up to 1 year, negotiable 🗓️
• Remote work available 🏡

Paid internships are available for students currently enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. Participation requires signing a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
