🔍 Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant, you will thrive in a dynamic environment, working closely with clients and team members to ensure high-quality healthcare delivery. Your role will blend clinical tasks with administrative duties to support community-based health services.

🎓 Education & Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 2 years of experience in a medical or healthcare administrative role preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent credential required

🛠️ Principal Responsibilities & Scope

  • Administer and interpret Tuberculosis (TB) skin tests for Personal Care Workers (PCWs)
  • Maintain accurate documentation of TB results and health records
  • Assist with basic health screenings and follow-up tasks as needed
  • Conduct orientation sessions for newly hired PCWs on policies, procedures, and care standards, completing all required training
  • Coordinate nursing shifts, ensuring proper coverage and adherence to care plans
  • Support HR and Nursing teams with onboarding and compliance documentation
  • Perform office duties with 2-3 field visits or client interactions weekly (mileage reimbursement available)
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Maintain flexibility with scheduling to meet operational needs
  • Uphold confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations
  • Participate actively in team meetings and continuous improvement efforts
  • Provide backup support during peak periods or staff absences
  • Assist with daily office operations, including filing, data entry, and handling inquiries

🧠 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt swiftly to changing priorities
  • Fluent in English; bilingual is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications
  • Experience with office equipment such as copiers and scanners
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment and discretion
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

⚖️ Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

Physical Demands

  • 70% sitting, 20% walking/standing, with occasional stooping, bending, or reaching
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds

Vision Requirements

  • Close vision, distance vision, and focus adjustment capabilities needed

Work Environment
