Are you a mission-driven Chinese Language Analyst? Join a dynamic team of Intelligence Community professionals dedicated to national security objectives. Use your foreign language skills to research, translate, report, and analyze foreign technical materials. Support engineers by translating and analyzing technical manuals, patent documents, and foreign periodicals related to technology into clear American English.

We seek linguists with a technical mindset who can support the research and exploitation of technical data sources, assess foreign ground forces' capabilities, and maintain databases on foreign weapons and C4ISR systems.

📝 Responsibilities

• Translate and analyze technical information on Chinese electronic systems, subsystems, technologies, communications, algorithms, software, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures—particularly in embedded systems, wireless networks, software-defined radios, and systems engineering.
• Perform text translation/transcription with quality control reviews of translations, transcriptions, or reports.
• Scan, sort, and categorize foreign language materials efficiently.
• Recover key elements of information from technical documents.
• Render accurate translations and transcripts of complex written materials.
• Support all-source analysis and produce comprehensive technical assessments through research and technical writing.
• Assist engineers in evaluating the reliability of foreign technical data, R&D activities, and production capabilities.
• Utilize OSINT tools as needed to enhance analysis.

🎓 Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in linguistics or related discipline
• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
• Minimum 3/3 on the DLPT or equivalent in Mandarin
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• At least 3 years of professional experience in translation, transcription, or interpretation
• Proficiency in passing an advanced English test
• ILR Level 3 or higher in Mandarin translation (Reading)
• Over 3 years experience as a Linguist on DoD programs
• Strong technical writing skills
• Comfortable conducting detailed and systems-of-systems analysis
• Deep knowledge of geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural factors in target language regions

💰 Pay Range

The salary for this position may vary based on factors such as geographic location, federal contract categories, prior experience, skills, education, and certifications. We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including:
