The Opportunity

Are you a mission-focused Chinese Language Analyst? Join a team of dynamic Intelligence Community professionals supporting national security. Use your foreign language expertise to research, translate, report, and analyze foreign technical material.

Assist engineers by translating and analyzing intermediate to advanced-level printed materials, including technical manuals, patent documents, and foreign language periodicals related to technology. Your work will help assess foreign technical capabilities and contribute to maintaining vital databases on weapons systems and C4ISR technologies.

Key Responsibilities 🔧

• Translate and analyze technical information on Chinese electronic systems, subsystems, technologies, and vulnerabilities, with a focus on embedded systems, wireless networks, software-defined radios, and systems engineering.
• Perform text translation and transcription, including quality control reviews.
• Scan, categorize, and organize foreign language materials.
• Extract and recover essential information from complex technical documents.
• Render accurate translations and transcripts of sophisticated technical materials.
• Support comprehensive technical assessments through independent research and technical writing.
• Assist engineers in evaluating the reliability of foreign equipment and R&D capabilities.
• Utilize OSINT tools as required for research tasks.

🎯 Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in linguistics or related discipline.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, with at least a 3/3 score on the DLPT or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, focusing on research objectives.
• Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in translation, transcription, or interpretation.
• Proficiency in advanced English language skills.
• Score of ILR Level 3 or higher in Mandarin translation test (Reading).
• At least 3+ years of experience working on DoD-related programs and projects.
• Strong technical writing abilities and analytical skills.
• Comfortable performing detailed and systems-of-systems analysis.
• Deep understanding of the geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural contexts of target language areas.

💰 Pay Range

The final salary depends on factors such as location, experience, skills, education, and certifications. Our competitive compensation package includes healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, education, and time off benefits.

Proposed Salary Range: $90,300 - $189,600
