The Position 📚
Chapin School Princeton is seeking a Mandarin teacher for grades PK-3 starting in Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will be passionate about nurturing elementary students, innovative in pedagogy, collaborative with colleagues, and comfortable utilizing technology to enhance learning experiences. This position reports to the World Language Department Chair and the Lower School Director.
Responsibilities
- Teach four sections of Mandarin across grades PK-3
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and enhance curriculum and actively engage students
- Supervise recess, lunch, and other co-curricular activities
- Adhere to school guidelines for grading, recordkeeping, and using the learning management system to communicate class information
- Participate in school-wide activities such as workshops, special events, and professional meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required 🎓
- Elementary school teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of best practices in World Language instruction
- Innovative and forward-thinking teaching approach
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Comfort with integrating technology into lessons
- Experience with differentiated instruction
- Strong classroom management skills
- Commitment to collaborative and innovative teaching styles
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in independent schools is a plus but not required
