Your Role: Manager, Event Operations 🎟️

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the execution of all Petco Park events, including Padres home games and various internal and external events. Your leadership will extend to recruiting, training, and managing the Event Crew and Reserves Program. When the Director is unavailable, you will serve as the primary contact for the Department.

Key Responsibilities

⚾️ Baseball & Event Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational requirements from Homestand Production Notes and Event Orders are properly implemented from start to finish.
  • Manage Event Crew and Ball Girls for all events.
  • Lead briefings for Event Crew and Event Medical teams before events.
  • Assist with promotional item distribution, gate allocation, and inventory.
  • Coordinate with corporate partners to facilitate activation communications.
  • Support community events like Blood Drives, Home Run Derby, All-Star Game, and Turkey Drive.

🏟️ Facility Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee in-house sign printing and inventory.
  • Manage large signage projects ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Ensure event spaces are safe, meet client expectations, and identify safety hazards.

📋 Administrative Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the Padres Reserves Program in partnership with People & Culture.
  • Schedule Event Personnel for all Padres games and events.
  • Contribute to annual budget, strategic planning, and performance objectives.
  • Oversee uniform inventory and coordinate training and orientation programs.
  • Provide guidance and performance evaluations to Event Crew.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic office equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

  • Reliable and punctual attendance.

Qualifications & Requirements ✅

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Event Management, or related field.
  • 2-4 years supervisory experience in sports or entertainment operations.
  • Proven success in managing large-scale events and supervising part-time staff.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
  • Physical ability to access various areas of the ballpark and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and screenings.

Salary & Benefits 💰🎉

The base salary range is $70,304 to $72,000, aligned with the California pay transparency law. Compensation will depend on experience, education, and skills.
