About the Role

As a Long-Term Substitute French Teacher, you will:

• Follow the established curriculum to deliver engaging French lessons.
• Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behavior.
• Create a positive, engaging, and culturally rich learning environment.
• Connect meaningfully with adolescents to support language acquisition.

Salary will be pro-rated based on the duration of the position.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily instruction across French levels, including French I through AP French.
• Implement existing lesson plans and develop engaging, standards-aligned lessons when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Foster an active learning atmosphere emphasizing respectful communication and cultural exploration.
• Provide timely feedback to students and communicate with parents/guardians as appropriate.
• Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support student success.
• Assist with school operations, including supervision and participation in faculty/department meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Prior secondary-level teaching experience, especially in French, is preferred
• Strong proficiency in both spoken and written French
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
• Dedication to fostering inclusivity, student engagement, and global awareness
