Job Summary
Kaiser Permanente nurses operate under an integrated nursing model that places patients and families at the heart of care. As an LPN I, you will practice nursing according to the Georgia Board of Nursing standards, organizational policies, and procedures. Under supervision from Registered Nurses or Physicians, you will deliver direct and indirect care, promote health, prevent illnesses, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure exceptional care delivery. 🏥
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for office visits by reviewing medical history, collecting clinical data (height, weight, vision, hearing tests), measuring vital signs, and documenting findings.
- Complete Patient Office Encounters (POE) and address care gaps during patient interactions.
- Set up examination rooms and equipment, assisting practitioners as necessary.
- Initiate interventions and document patient responses according to workflows and guidelines.
- Participate in emergency care as directed by practitioners or registered nurses.
- Educate patients and provide preparation materials for diagnostic procedures following established protocols.
- Schedule appointments for labs, radiology, or specialty consultations as prescribed.
- Manage electronic communications such as messages and emails related to patient and provider requests within your scope of practice.
- Contribute to quality improvement activities at departmental or regional levels.
- Engage and coordinate care with patients, families, and caregivers.
- Address patient concerns promptly and professionally.
- Provide orientation and training to new team members on policies, procedures, and standard work.
- Supervise unlicensed personnel involved in patient care activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team needs.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience: Not applicable
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing (LPN/LVN) program
- License & Certification:
- Practical Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire
Additional Requirements
- Complete a Customer Service Assessment
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of six (6) months of healthcare experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills demonstrated through assessment
