The Opportunity
As Legal Counsel for Southern Europe / France, you will play a critical role in the development of Dexcom France and the broader Southern Cluster, which includes Spain and Italy. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Legal EMEA, this position offers a unique chance to influence our legal strategies from a vibrant office location outside of France, preferably in Barcelona, Spain.
Key Responsibilities ✍️
- Partner closely with Dexcom's commercial teams in France, providing legal support on contracts, business development, and go-to-market strategies by applying sound legal and practical judgment.
- Draft, review, and ensure contractual alignment across a variety of agreements, including:
- Commercial contracts with public administration and health insurances
- Distribution and rebate agreements
- Master services agreements
- Project assignments, sponsorship agreements, service agreements, NDAs, and SOWs
- Advise on local French and EU healthcare laws, medical devices regulations, reimbursement policies, public procurement, digital health, competition law, and trade compliance, collaborating with EMEA legal experts and global specialists.
- Negotiate agreements with healthcare professionals (HCPs), healthcare organizations (HCOs), insurance providers, and patient organizations, ensuring compliance with transparency, fair market value, anti-kickback, and industry ethical standards.
- Review and approve promotional, advertising, and educational materials in accordance with national and EU regulations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Compliance, Data Privacy, Regulatory, Quality, Government Affairs, and Tax teams for compliant business operations.
- Contribute to the development of internal policies, playbooks, templates, and training programs to enhance legal and compliance awareness across the company.
What Makes You a Successful Candidate 🎯
- Qualified lawyer registered to practice in France with an active practicing certificate or bar admission.
- Proven experience in providing legal advice, negotiating contracts, and managing transactions in highly regulated environments, ideally with a mix of in-house and law firm roles.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and French; proficiency in other EMEA languages is a plus.
- Deep understanding of French and EU healthcare laws, medical device regulations, reimbursement schemes, public procurement, EU competition law, and international trade compliance.
- Ability to quickly identify legal risks and deliver practical, business-oriented solutions under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, intercultural skills, personal integrity, and a commitment to ethical, professional operations.
- Experience managing multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to adapt to change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with contract management systems.
- Ability to work remotely effectively and independently, with willingness to work on-site at Dexcom offices as needed.

Experience and Education Requirements 🎓
- Bachelor's degree in law or relevant field.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant legal experience, ideally within healthcare or medical device sectors.
