• Salary: $36.50 hourly / 40 hours per week

Work Setting

Responsibilities

• Estimate amounts and costs of supplies and food items
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
• Analyze operating costs and other data to improve efficiency
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff
• Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
• Create innovative recipes
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
• Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
• Coordinate staff schedules and supervise kitchen operations
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions
• Plan and oversee food preparation and cooking activities across multiple restaurant locations
• Design menus and ensure all food meets quality standards
• Prepare dishes suitable for customers with allergies or intolerances
• Recruit, hire, and train kitchen staff
• Lead and instruct team members to maintain high standards
