The ideal candidate will be a passionate and dedicated World Language Teacher, proficient in Spanish and French, to inspire students and foster their language skills for the 2026-2027 school year.

📝 Job Summary

  • Curriculum Planning & Instruction: Plan and deliver lessons aligned with District and state standards.
  • Lesson Development: Create and modify lesson plans, curricula, materials, and resources to cater to diverse student needs and proficiency levels.
  • Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct formal and informal assessments to evaluate progress, interpret data, and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
  • Student Progress Management: Track student achievements, maintain records, and develop intervention strategies to support growth.
  • Communication: Regularly update parents and students on progress both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with grade-level, departmental, support teachers, and specialists to plan and integrate cross-curricular lessons.
  • Mentoring & Feedback: Supervise student teachers and/or volunteers; provide ongoing feedback and assessment.
  • Team Participation: Engage in district and building committees, providing feedback and serving as a liaison to staff.
  • Classroom Management: Set clear expectations, foster a positive environment, and apply behavioral supports as needed.
  • Curriculum & School Improvement: Collaborate on curriculum development and participate in school improvement initiatives.
  • Safe Learning Environment: Promote a respectful atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Policy Enforcement: Uphold school policies, philosophies, and objectives with students and parents.
  • Professional Development: Attend staff trainings, workshops, and participate in activities for ongoing professional growth.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Represent the school at events such as orientations, open houses, and conferences.

🎓 Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A valid Illinois Professional Educator License
  • Endorsements in Spanish (5-8) and French (5-8)
  • Additional endorsements are considered a plus

💰 Rate of Pay & Benefits

Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience and is determined by the upcoming Collective Bargaining Agreement (effective July 1, ). The current contract details are available for review to provide an initial reference.

🏫 Working Conditions

This position is based in a middle school environment.
