The Opportunity 🚀

In collaboration with the kindergarten team and Olå Program staff, the Kindergarten Olå Teacher will:

• Create a stimulating, physical environment that encourages children to make choices and take responsibility for their learning
• Demonstrate bilingual and bicultural proficiency
• Support literacy, math, science, and social studies skill development
• Utilize inclusive teaching techniques and diverse learning approaches, including activity-centered projects
• Implement district-endorsed curricula in partnership with the Literacy and Math Coach
• Foster collaborative work among children and work closely with special education staff to support inclusion
• Coordinate with staff on curriculum planning
• Maintain detailed records of each child's academic, social, and emotional growth

Throughout interactions, the teacher will ensure a safe, nurturing environment with clear expectations, providing opportunities for children to make choices and engage actively.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Your Skill Set 🧰

To thrive as our Kindergarten Ola Teacher, you should possess many of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution; Master’s preferred
• Fluency in Portuguese is required
• Experience working with elementary-age children, especially in multicultural urban settings
• Respect for developmental differences among children
• Ability to work effectively with both small and large groups in activity-based classrooms
• Massachusetts Elementary Education certification is required
