Job Details

Position: Japanese Language Teacher

We might have a match for you if you're passionate about teaching Japanese! Here's what the course entails:

• Client Location: Henderson, NV (class at your or client's home/office)
• Course Duration: 22 hours
• Class Structure: 1.5-hour sessions, twice per month
• Start Date: ASAP

Student Profile

Meet our student:

• Location & Travel: In Vegas/Henderson NV for 10 days each month; available on Sundays and Wednesdays
• Language Level: Elementary to lower intermediate
• Motivation: Planning to visit Japan in April 2025; passionate about Japanese culture and language learning
• Age: 68 years old
• Learning Preferences:
  • Prefers simple books like Japanese from Zero
  • Not interested in online books or the Genki textbook
  • Uses resources like Duolingo (160 days), flip cards for Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji
  • Listens to audio tapes (CD/Spotify)
  • Watched Japanese YouTube channels such as Japanese Ammo
• Availability for lessons: 90-minute sessions on specific dates (January 12 & 15, February 12, March 9 & 12)

What We’re Looking For

• Qualifications: Native Japanese speaker OR hold a teaching degree
• Experience: Teaching, translation, or interpreting background
• Legal: Valid working visa
• Location: Residing within 20 miles of Henderson, NV

Flexibility regarding class location and schedule is possible based on mutual availability. The hourly rate is negotiable, depending on your qualifications and experience. Please note: this is a freelance, part-time position; we cannot sponsor visas.
