TOP Group - Japanese Recruiting Agency Is Hiring A Japanese Bilingual Policy Coordinator

Join our team as a Fund Finance Director and play a pivotal role in expanding our fund finance business in Japan, working closely with our Tokyo office and stakeholders. This role involves strategic promotion of products, stakeholder communication, and project leadership to drive growth and client success. 🚀

Position Overview

The Director is a key supportive member within the Bank's Fund Finance Solutions Department (FFSD). Reporting directly to senior management, the Director will spearhead efforts to develop and grow the fund finance business in Japan, collaborating with local teams and Japanese-speaking stakeholders to generate new opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Promote & expand the fund finance product suite in the Japanese market alongside the structured finance team in Tokyo.
  • Identify new opportunities and support origination of subscription secured finance transactions to ensure offerings remain competitive and compliant with global standards.
  • Syndicate structured finance transactions to a network of Japanese investors including banks, pension funds, insurance companies, and institutional investors.
  • Build and nurture relationships with Japanese institutional investors and structure loan participations to optimize market engagement and reduce reliance on bank commitment lines.
  • Lead communication efforts between Tokyo and NY, acting as a liaison and translator to ensure seamless collaboration between local teams and the home office.
  • Support ad hoc projects driven by the Tokyo office and local planning departments, contributing to strategic initiatives as needed.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Solid understanding of fund finance solutions including subscription secured finance, NAV finance, and FX hedging.
  • Strong attention to detail with a track record of delivering accurate work within tight deadlines, requiring minimal revisions.
  • Proficiency in leveraging analytical tools and financial models, demonstrating technical growth and system expertise necessary for the role.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant or comparable experience.
  • Business fluency in both English and Japanese.
  • Experience in corporate or institutional banking is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of credit risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with bank regulations, risk management, and compliance factors.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
