We are currently recruiting *Italian bilingual* volunteers based in New York City to support the Poll Site Language Assistance Program managed by the Civic Engagement Commission (CEC). If you're interested in assisting voters and making a difference, we invite you to register your interest today!

About the Role

As a bilingual supporter, you will provide vital assistance at polling sites around the city, particularly in Brooklyn. Your role will ensure that non-English speakers can navigate the voting process smoothly and confidently.

Key Details

• Availability: Full-day commitment on Election Day (5:00am - 10:00pm).
• Responsibilities:
  • Answer voters' questions
  • Verbally translate the English ballot
  • Interpret between poll workers and voters
  • Assist with site setup and breakdown
  • Perform administrative duties as needed
• Role Type: Nonpartisan

Requirements

• Legal authorization to work in the US
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to assist with setup and breakdown of the polling site
• Willingness to undergo training

Additional Details

• Job Type: Contract
• Pay: $22.00 per hour
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience: At least 1 year in Customer Service required
• Language: Fluency in Italian required
• Work Location: In person
