Position Overview
The Intake Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the referral and onboarding process while building positive relationships with clients, team members, and referral sources. This role ensures smooth coordination of care and excellent customer service throughout the intake process. 🚀
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the intake process from referral receipt to care coordination.
- Process all referrals and related intake data accurately.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Review client information to assess home care needs upon receiving case referrals.
- Complete and digitize all admission paperwork.
- Schedule appointments for consultations, tests, and procedures.
- Respond promptly to phone calls and email inquiries.
- Address patient complaints or concerns professionally.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, copying, and faxing.
- Prepare and maintain up-to-date patient charts.
- Ensure compliance with facility regulations and policies.
- Perform other duties as required to support the team.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong multitasking skills.
- Bilingual in Korean is required.
- Ability to work out of our Brooklyn (Broadway) office.
- Willingness to rotate on call with other administrative staff, including weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Effective time management to meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull at least 20 lbs.
Education & Experience
- At least one year of home care experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Some college coursework or a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of two years' experience in patient intake or medical office administration is preferred.
