Position Details 📋

  • Department: Corporate
  • Location: Nottingham, PA
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible hours discussed during interview

Job Overview 🎯

The HR Generalist will oversee recruitment, HR policies & procedures, employee relations, training, and support HR initiatives for our Manufacturing and Warehouse facilities in Pennsylvania and Maryland. This role plays a strategic part in supporting the HR department’s projects and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities 💼

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage job postings, resume screening, interviews, reference checks, and extending employment offers.
  • Represent Herr Foods at recruitment events and career fairs.
  • Guide new employees through onboarding and coordinate orientations.
  • Oversee entrance and exit interviews, analyzing trends for improvement.

People Strategy & HR Support

  • Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Coach managers on performance, engagement, and talent development.
  • Lead workforce planning including recruitment, succession planning, and organizational design.
  • Analyze HR metrics to recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
  • Promote a positive organizational culture aligned with company values.

Employee Relations & Engagement 🤝

  • Conduct employee relations investigations and follow-ups.
  • Proactively identify issues and develop creative solutions.
  • Engage with employees on the production and warehouse floors to understand needs.
  • Support HR and safety programs to foster a respectful workplace.

Communication & Customer Service 📣

  • Build positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Communicate HR information effectively through appropriate channels.
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns promptly.
  • Support other HR functions, including safety programs and related duties.

Qualifications & Skills 🌟

  • Bilingual in Spanish required
  • Strong adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred; HS Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive HR experience, with knowledge of employment law preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional organizational and attention to detail
  • Results-driven, able to work independently or collaboratively
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive problem-solver with strong analytical abilities
  • Effective communicator in one-on-one and group settings

  • Primarily performs office-based work
  • Sedentary work requiring prolonged computer use
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
