Position Overview
The HL7 Integration Engineer (IE) for the Canadian region is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of Synapse product HL7 integration, including installation, configuration, validation, and product go-live support for all Synapse MI offerings. This role requires expert knowledge in medical informatics, IT infrastructure, medical imaging industry, and clinical workflows. Additionally, the HL7 IE must deliver industry-leading customer satisfaction through excellent communication skills both within project teams and externally with clients. 🤝

Job Description
Note: Bilingual proficiency in French (fluent speaking & writing) is mandatory.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with MI Project Management to deliver high-quality Synapse solutions. 🛠️
- Serve as the primary technical resource for HL7 implementation projects across Synapse product lines.
- Lead enterprise projects including:
- Data migrations
- Interface integration and data conversion
- Integrate Synapse MI products with third-party healthcare systems like EMR, PACS, CVIS, RIS, HIS, and VNA. 💻
- Follow internal communication guidelines diligently using provided tools.
- Develop extensive documentation including:
- Customer-specific solution designs
- Best practices
- Learn new product features and participate in the SME program. 📚
- Contribute to internal team activities such as presentations and cross-functional projects.
- Mentor and train peers, actively sharing knowledge. 🧑🏫
- Operate as an independent lead in technical projects.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, regulations, and industry standards including FDA and ISO 13485. ✅
Qualifications
- Technical professional with expertise in designing, implementing, and documenting complex projects in healthcare IT environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience with HL7, DICOM, FHIR, and IHE profiles (minimum 4-5 years HL7 integration experience in hospital settings). 🏥
- Proficiency in databases such as SQL and Oracle; ability to query and validate data. 💾
- Experience with EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athena, Meditech, and others.
- Hands-on experience with interface engines such as Mirth Connect, Iguana, Rhapsody, and Cloverleaf.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Lua, JavaScript, Python) for data transformation.
- Excellent communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects, and multitask effectively. 🗂️
- Knowledge of healthcare workflows, radiology, cardiology, and PACS systems.
- Understanding of networking basics, Windows OS, MS Office, VMWare, and remote access tools.
- Fluent in both English and French; bilingualism strongly preferred. 🗣️
Physical & Travel Requirements
The role demands sitting, typing, standing, and hearing ability for most of the workday. Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required based on business needs. 🧳
Salary & Benefits
Compensation ranges from $89,646.00 to $116,700.20 annually, depending on experience, plus a 10% bonus opportunity. Benefits include:
