Position Overview
The HL7 Integration Engineer (IE) for the Canadian region oversees all technical aspects of Synapse product HL7 integration, from installation, configuration, validation phases through to product go-live, for all Synapse MI products. HL7 IEs must possess expert-level knowledge in medical informatics, IT infrastructure design and deployment, medical imaging industry, and clinical workflow processes. Beyond technical expertise, the role demands excellent communication skills to deliver industry-leading customer satisfaction within project teams and external clients.

Job Description
🇫🇷 BILINGUAL REQUIREMENT: Fluent in French (Speaking & Writing)
This position involves working closely with project management teams and acting as the primary technical resource for HL7 implementation projects across Synapse product lines within the Canadian healthcare environment.
🛠 Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with MI Project Management to deliver high-quality Synapse solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for HL7 implementation projects.
- Execute enterprise-level custom projects including:
- Data migrations
- Interface integration and data conversion
- Integrate Synapse MI products with third-party healthcare information systems such as EMR, PACS, CVIS, RIS, HIS, VNA, and dictation systems.
- Follow internal communication protocols, utilizing provided tools for effective project updates.
- Develop extensive documentation including:
- Customer-specific solution designs
- Best practices documentation
- Stay updated on new Synapse and third-party systems (especially EMR systems relevant to Canadian healthcare imaging and hospitals).
- Engage in SME programs and internal knowledge-sharing activities.
- Mentor peers and participate actively in knowledge transfer.
- Work independently as the lead project technical resource.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and adherence to quality standards.
- Follow all applicable medical device regulatory requirements and standards such as FDA, ISO 13485.
🎓 Qualifications:
- Technical professional experienced in designing and executing complex technical projects.
- Expertise in healthcare informatics, with a focus on radiology, cardiology, RIS, and VNA services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience with HL7 v2, DICOM, FHIR, and IHE profiles.
- Proficiency in SQL, Oracle databases, and scripting languages such as Lua, JavaScript, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with interface engines like Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, Iguana, Cloverleaf, etc.
- Knowledge of Canadian healthcare provincial health record interfacing and diagnostic imaging repositories.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and interact effectively in a matrix environment.
- Fundamental knowledge of computer networking and high-performance systems.
🏋️ Physical & Travel Requirements:
- Sitting, standing, using hands, and manipulation of items like keyboards (up to 100%).
- Lifting up to ten pounds (approximately 20% of work time).
- Close vision ability at twenty inches or less.
- Occasional travel up to 25% based on business needs.

- Salary Range: $89,646.00 - $116,700.20 (depending on experience)
